Join us for a fun, hearty and inspiring day dedicated to reigniting your creative spark. On February 20th a small group of individuals will gather at the serene Beecher Place in Crescent Beach to explore and celebrate the power of creativity.
What’s the Day About?
This day is first and foremost about having fun, and it’s for anyone who wants to explore their creative side. In the comforting embrace of Crescent Beach, we’ll delve into the theme of “Reconnecting with Your Creative Self.” This isn’t just about art; it’s about tapping into the essence of who we are, allowing ourselves to be open, and finding the courage to express ourselves through creativity.
Workshop Highlights
Our day will weave together moments of individual reflection and powerful group activities, including:

Storytelling Sessions: Share and listen to stories that inspire and connect us on a deep, human level.

Music Appreciation: Explore how music can move us, resonate with our experiences, and express our passions.

Modern Kintsugi Art: Immerse yourself in the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi, learning to see beauty in our imperfections and understanding that our cracks and flaws make us unique and strong.
What’s Modern Kintsugi?
Kintsugi is more than an art form; it’s a philosophy that embraces imperfections and sees beauty in the broken. By mending pottery with gold, we’ll learn to see our own cracks and flaws as unique parts of our story, adding to our strength and beauty.
Lunch and Leisure
We’ll take a good break for lunch. There are wonderful coffee shops and food options in Crescent Beach, and you can take a leisurely walk on the beach to soak in some fresh air, alone or with others.

About Your Facilitator - Barb Borthistle
Barb Borthistle is the founder and principal of Whitestone Counselling and a beacon of creative energy and self-expression. Her commitment to helping others discover and nurture their own creative talents is truly inspiring. Barb believes that creativity is a fundamental part of our humanity, a way to communicate our passions and connect with others in a meaningful way.
Barb’s journey in the arts is a testament to her dedication. She has explored various forms of creative expression, from designing a mentoring curriculum and wholistic health events to poetry, writing and painting. Her recent completion of a Master of Leadership only adds to her impressive skill set, equipping her with the tools to guide us through a transformative experience. Her own Japanese heritage has drawn her to the Kintsugi art expression and she uses this principle in her counselling to promote healing.
